L.C. Smith Shotguns

A grand old brand name is back to the Marlin line. Back in 1945, Marlin bought The Hunter Arms Company, of Fulton, New York, maker of the legendary L.C. Smith side-by-side shotgun. Nicknamed the “Elsie”, this sidelock double gun was made for a few years in the Marlin plant, before being phased out because of high manufacturing costs.

Although we have not been able to bring back the L.C. Smith as an American-made gun, we do have one of Europe's finest shotgun companies building models worthy of the great L.C. Smith name. We have expanded this line for 2007 to offer small bore models in 28 guage and .410 bore.

These side-by-sides are crafted with side plates to echo the look of the original Smith guns. And, although there were no over-and-under L.C. Smiths, we are offering 12 and 20 gauge models with the same excellent level of quality.
