Remington Adds
the Popular 308 Marlin Express to Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
Category
Madison, N.C. – New for 2009, Remington is offering the 308 Marlin
Express cartridge in the legendary line of Core-Lokt® hunting
ammunition. Now Marlin® lever-action fans shooting the hot new 308
Marlin Express cartridge can experience the "Deadliest Mushroom in
the Woods." The 308 Marlin Express offering will feature a Core-Lokt
150 grain soft point bullet with a muzzle velocity of 2725 fps,
providing 308 Win performance levels in a lever-action platform.
In 1939, Remington Arms Company Inc. set the world standard in
centerfire rifle ammunition design and performance with the advent
of the Core-Lokt bullet. This new bullet design was based around the
thicker mid-section of its heavy metal jacket which mechanically
locked to its inner lead core. The Core-Lokt bullet was the first
controlled expansion bullet that provided hunters with minimum
bullet break-up and deep penetration on game. Over the years
Remington has refined the original Core-Lokt design and perfected
the manufacturing processes used to produce it. Now, nearly 70 years
after its introduction, the Remington® Core-Lokt bullet has taken
more big game than any other bullet on the market. Generations of
hunters have trusted Remington Core-Lokt to put meat on the table
and trophies on their walls.

Madison, NC –The first Marlin lever action rifle was produced in 1881. Now, more than a century later, Marlin lever action rifles have stood the test of time and continue to occupy a prominent position within the landscape of American firearms. Marlin has chosen to produce a very unique Model 1895CB to signify its 30,000,000th lever action rifle.
"This commemorative rifle is indeed an exceptional work of art," said Marlin Firearms President, Bob Behn.

Left Panel Detail
The serial number is prominently displayed in a 24kt gold solid inlay with deep hand–cut letters. The great American Bison is cut in the Bulino style, and is raised above the field of 24kt gold inlay that makes up the cameo's oval shape. There is a Florentine texture throughout this inlay that enriches the surface by softly diffusing the light, making the gold give off warmth, without glare or a bold reflection.
Right Panel Detail
The time–honored Marlin Scout is also prominently featured in the Bulino style, and is raised above the inlayed gold cameo.
"Marlin 30 Millionth" is inlaid in 24kt gold, into a banner that flows under the Scout cameo. The safety is gold filled to replicate the target used by traditional Marlin advertising and the rifle's bolt is polished and fine jeweled.
Finger Lever and Hammer Detail
Detailed as fine Marlins have been for over 100 years, the arrow on the hammer adds a distinct
"Marlin" touch, and is inlaid in solid gold. The Lever is engraved and inlaid with 24kt gold to accent the shape of the lever and matches the scroll detail featured on the rifle's barrel.

Remington Announces Manufacturing Consolidation Plan.
Madison, NC – April 7, 2008 Remington Arms Company, Inc. ("Remington"), the United States' largest firearms manufacturer, today announced a strategic manufacturing consolidation move that will result in the closure of its Gardner, Massachusetts plant ("Gardner"). This integration will be seamless and will not affect our customers or our product offerings.
"While it was a difficult decision to close Gardner, we believe that this consolidation will enhance our ability to more efficiently provide quality products at competitive prices in an increasingly demanding global marketplace." said Tommy Millner, Remington's Chief Executive Officer.
"We are always looking for ways to strengthen and optimize our business in order
to stay competitive, while also creating additional opportunities for our
employees and better products for customers. Our number one goal is to provide
our customers and end–users with the best, most innovative products at a
competitive price. Consolidation of manufacturing capabilities and migration to
common operating systems are expected to create efficiencies that will achieve
this goal."
Throughout the remainder of 2008, the integration of Gardner's operations is expected to result in centralized sales and marketing, streamlined operations, standardized information technology infrastructure, and common financial functionality while vigorously maintaining and promoting individual brand identity and products.
Unfortunately, an estimated 200 Gardner employees will be impacted by the closure, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2008. A number of employees will transition from Gardner to other capacities within the Company. For those not transferred, the Company will be offering severance, outplacement, and referral services in order to assist in this difficult transition.
